		<description>Thanks for visiting and commenting. You make a great point. Most or all of the photos were not taken during interrogations (even if they were, that abuse of the prisoners was not authorized by administration officials and certainly not by any of the memos that were released).

That is why I criticized the logic of Col. Karpinski; what was in the released memos does not justify even a portion of what occurred at that prison. What occurred there was sickening. The memos do not vindicate Col. Karpinski.</description>

		<description>When the Abu Gharib story originally broke, I remember that it was reported that the photographs were not taken of interrogation techniques, but of acts by the guards to humiliate the prisoners.  Is this accurate or has it been proven wrong?  I strongly object to the &quot;enhanced interrogation techniques&quot;, but I find much more reprehensible uncontrolled acts by guards intending to simply humiliate prisoners.</description>
